2. Yoga way or the way of body and mind. : ( Yoga Marg ) This is the theory based on the deliberate controls over body and mind . This requires determined control on the natural tendencies towards comforts and bodily enjoyments; and also control over the ever wandering mind. (Yogaschittavrittinirodhah - Patanjal Rishi). Though Yoga is much advertized in today's world, a very few persons know its true knowledge.
3. Knowledge way or the way of intelligence: ( Jnan Marg ) This is the way of the intelligent people who can sense and differentiate between the perishable things from the imperishable God. They have extra ordinary sense of comprehension of the knowledge of God and spirituality. These people are very few in the world. They mostly understand the God descried in words. Among them, only the number of persons counted on finger tips experience God, and become happy for ever.
The ?devotionalists? are the people who want to take the maximum advantage of the science and abuse the science because their holy books say, ?the wisdom of the world is foolishness?.
It is said that many ancient sages knew Samhita. Samhita consists of more than one thousand sciences for the benefit of the mankind. Most of the knowledge has now been lost because India was under the rule of the fanatic foreigners for more than one thousand years. The ancient scriptures divide the knowledge in two parts. Vidhya Maya and Avidhya Maya. Research activities like reading/listening, thinking and bringing into own experience the knowledge of God was said to be Vidhya.
And all such knowledge,
1. For the hobby
2. For satisfaction of mind
3. For jobs or business or for earning money
4. For finding something new
5. For own self, for family, for society, for the nation, for human welfare, for welfare of all beings etc.
6. For inventing new things with constructive or destructive purpose
7. For filling bellies and for health and healing etc.
was the Karma knowledge or peoples' knowledge (Loukik Vidhya), which in the spiritual context was the lack of knowledge. (Avidhya). The Hindu scriptures have not blamed world wisdom or science to be foolishness or scientists to be foolish, however, Indian scriptures have rightly called the ?devotionalists? the foolish people.
The proof is given below :
1. Scriptures : ?Murkhasya Pratima Devah? = explanation= The foolish people worship/pray the signs deeming to be God. (signs like prayer house, objects at pilgrim places, idols, sky, photographs, holy books etc.)
2. Hon. Shankaracharya : ? Bhaj Govindam Mudhmate? = explanation= The fools should pray/worship God. (not the intellectuals).
3. Goswami Tulsidas : ?Buddhihin Tav Jankar smara le Pawan Kumar? = explanation= Understand yourself to be biggest fool and then worship/pray the God. (If you are intelligent it is not required, you have different ways).
Prayers and worships were deemed to be the activities of foolish ?devotionalist? people, monotheists or others, according to the ancient scriptures and the knowledge of the great saints in India. Scientists were performing their karmas and so they were not blamed. Prayers and worships are selfish and emotional, so God does never pay the heed. Every ?devotionalist? has in mind the thoughts of asking something to God. He prays to God for himself and not for God. At least he has in his mind that God should bless him/her. God has no time to look at such people.
There are of course exceptions. The people who pray and worship God must fulfill the following conditions and then only could expect the mercy of God. Bhagwan Gourang Mahaprabhu writes,
Trinadapi Sunichen Tarorapi Sahishnuta I
Amanina Mandena Kirtaniya Sada Hari II
?Who want to pray or worship God, must forget their ego about money, beauty, race, religion, post or knowledge and deem themselves to be of the lower value than a leaf of grass. They must have the great strength to bear all sorrows, insults and injustice like a tree bears all the pains. They must pay great respect to the people who insult and trouble them. They must always pray God?
The prayers made to God without observing above conditions are more or less the sins, because such prayers would be an appeal to God against the orders of God that the ?devotionalists? be tested by material endurance.
