It was difficult to understand the cause of his tension because he was financially sound person and had beautiful wife and two children. Both reached near the remote ancient Ganesha temple, when he told his problem to the author. The problem was that the 45 year old friend of author had fallen in love with a young coworker of age of nineteen. She had declared to him that she was pregnant. Both of them tried to terminate the pregnancy but in vain. Those days in India, it was very difficult to carry it out secretly in hospital. With the fear that his family reputation in the city will be spoiled if people come to know about the pregnancy, he was extremely in tension. He wanted Ganesha to help him in termination of the pregnancy. (Saguna Devotee has right to ask for anything to God, Yogee and Jnani has no such right).
The author and his friend sat before the Ganesha idol and started praying. The author was praying Ganesha that his friend should be rescued from the burden. He suddenly saw that his friend was looking like he was in sound sleep but tears rolling down his eyes. About after one hour, his friend rose to his feet and told the author that he saw living Ganesh idol that blessed him when his eyes were closed. The author told him that Lord Ganesha had heard his prayer. Both left the temple of Lord Ganesha. Next day when both of them were working in Bank, the friend had a phone call and he received message that that the Aayurvedic treatment to girl was successful.
The author vows that this is absolutely true incidence. How this happened? How his friend and his lover escaped defamation? Is this not a proof that God listens to prayers?
Falsehood of prayers!
In the above true story we apparently can find that the blessings of Lord Ganesha blessed the friend of the author and he could come out of a possible defamation of a big and most reputed family in large city. There are millions of stories like this in the world that God comes to your rescue if you make prayer to God. These kinds of stories encourage the theist people to pray God. Many devotees share these stories with others making their own tasty additions to the stories. In fact, what the friend of the author prayed to God was immoral, still God responded positively. There are many people in the world who ask God for blessings while carrying out bad and destructive deeds in human society. It was reported that a human bomb prayed God before carrying out the explosion. God blessed and the explosion killed many people. The Guru of the author, Hon. Khapti Maharaj, often used to tell a story of a thief who jumped from fourth floor of a building due to fear that he would be caught. Before jumping, he prayed God and astonishingly, he was absolutely alright even after a jump from such a height and he ran away.
The question is, does God help the people who trouble others, kill others, rob others etc. if God is prayed?
This is most unfortunate that some people kill others, belonging to their own religion or to other religions in the name of God. How God can support killing, thefts, immoral acts etc.? If some holy book is teaching to revenge the people who insult your religion, it is unfortunate. If no holy book in the world is teaching to kill those who insult your religion, the acts of revenge of others must be irreligious.
It is a naked truth that the Saguna way, or the way of devotion to God by prayers and worship, mostly followed by the theists in the world, creates the religious mad and cruel fanatics who become extremely aggressive on the matter of religions. In fact those people love their religions more than God. Had the concept of God been true, God would have come down and taught the sacrifice of own life for the cause of humanity and not for the cause of religion. Praying and worshiping God is the fundamental essential in the devotional way and that is important to make your mind pure so that you can attain God. But excessive interference of the religions between God and His beloved devotees has divided this beautiful human family. Like in the mirror that has a dust on the surface, one is not able to see his face; but the image is clear if the dust is removed. The prayers and worships are meant for removing the dust of bad thoughts on the mind, so that mind could have the clear image of God into it. It is unfortunate that religions and the religious mad have misused the name of God and misused the prayers.
The stories that the prayers heard by God are purely coincidences. 99.9% of the prayers unheard and 0.1% heard: what will you call the outcome of prayers? If somebody thinks that his prayer is heard, it is merely a coincidence and nothing else.
