Who listens to Prayers? God?
A prayer is the only hope left sometimes for the theists of the world when all the human efforts become futile, either in achieving something or getting rid of something that had created a stir in the mind. The people pray to God depending upon their faith, sect or religion, and expect favors from God. They have tears in their eyes sometimes while they pray. They have utmost faith in God and they believe that only God understands their pains. Irrespective of religion, the people love God like they love their mothers. All the religions are manmade, but the love for God is intrinsic. It comes from inside automatically. In fact, there should have been nothing between God and human. But a human relies on the middlemen and middle “books”, called religious books, because there is no other source of information about God for the human being. The author also used to rely on the information which he received from the elders in the house, from religious priests and from reading religious books. He spent more than 60 years of his life in agonies and anxieties, barring a very few moments in life that made him laugh wholeheartedly. There is poetry in my mother tongue written by a famous saint. He has written, “In the life of a human being the happiness is of the size of a cumin seed, and the sorrows as big as a hill”. If all of us think seriously about our past life, we will find that there were only a few occasions of happiness and the sorrows were countless. The author was not a very fortunate person like many big persons in the world who could achieve success in earning money and all the comforts of life. Whenever and wherever he tried vigorously to gain something, most of the times he met with terrific failures. Exceptionally, he achieved very tiny successes rarely, which too only lasted for a few days to keep him somewhat happy. He was an ardent devotee of God. Though a born Hindu, he did not mind going to prayer houses of different religions, because he had a firm belief that God could not be two or more. God must be one. He was a great devotee of God a few years ago. He had worshiped and prayed God daily for hours together, being a very unfortunate but a god fearing person.
He remembers an incident of his life. He had given up a Bank Manager’s job for better earning and started his business as Government building contractor. In the year 1987, it was the month of April, when there would generally be very hot temperature like 40 to 47 degrees centigrade in India. He was in acute shortage of money and the creditors were creating lot of tensions for him. On that day, as a part of work he had to cast a (RCC) concrete slab on a canal that would have given him about Rs. 500,000 the next day by check from the Government office. He was dreaming to make payments to creditors as soon as he gets money. About 100 labors worked for full day from morning till evening and the slab was completed. The author was very much happy and was just leaving the work site having worked under hot Sun for many hours. Suddenly, the sky started filling with the black clouds. Within few minutes it started raining. It rained cats and dogs for about one hour and it felt like the sky developed a big hole. Surprisingly, only an hour’s rain flooded the canal. The heavily pouring water from the top and the flooded canal washed away the slab that was cast before few hours. Before him, he saw the entire day’s work of so many people just flown away. He prayed God continuously but he was not heard and saved. Next day he could not get the payment and his Creditors called him dishonest and a cheater and tortured him extremely. One of them filed a complaint in the court and that troubled him for many years till there was a compromise before the court. Nobody in India generally expects rains in April. He had prudently taken all the care for during the casting of slab, but nobody could stop the misfortune. This is one of the hundreds of such unfortunate incidents in the author’s life. Many a times he had to watch his gardens burning before his eyes, and his hands handcuffed by fortune. After the destruction of one garden he again had to work hard for another new; only for watching its’ destruction again. Each garden was created by him with great labor and investment. Nobody heard his prayers; creations and destructions of the gardens continued in life till he got the knowledge from Guru. Untold are the misfortunes and tortures endured by the author. Consequently, his knowledge is not bookish. He had to pay great price in life for whatever he learnt. Whatever, right or wrong he has written below has the backing of experience of six decades’ unfortunate human life, and three decades of continuous service to God and Guru.
The author wants to write here the knowledge based on his own experience. He is not here to promote any specific thought or religion, nor does he want here to denounce any sect of religion or criticize anybody of any faith in this world. One may carry an impression after reading the contents of this website that the author does not believe in God. The people might think that he is an ‘Atheist’. But this is not correct. The author does very much believe in God and loves God too much. His love for God multiplied and he came more nearer to God when he understood the knowledge of Self Realization, which he wants to share with the people who love God. However, with his experience of life and the extremely deeper study of the ancient knowledge, he found for himself the way to be out of the onslaught of the misfortune without giving troubles to God.
